The Temora Aviation Museum is excited to announce that the RAAF Roulettes precision aerobatic team will fly as part of Warbirds Downunder Airshow at Temora Aviation Museum.
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will fly six PC-9/A aircraft to Temora Aviation Museum to take part in Warbirds Downunder during the Friday Evening and Saturday Airshows.
As the RAAF’s elite formation aerobatic display team, the Roulettes perform breathtaking displays – using only hand-eye coordination to fly at speeds of up to 590 kilometres per hour. The six Roulettes may experience up to 4.5G (or 4.5 times the normal force of gravity) during a display in their PC-9/A aircraft. When the Roulettes are not showcasing their skills, they teach qualified RAAF pilots to become flying instructors at RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria.
Roulette One, Squadron Leader Paul Henry, had this to say about their anticipated November visit to Warbirds Downunder 2015. “It’s always a pleasure to perform in front of the enthusiastic crowds of Temora, and it’s fantastic to be able to put on a show beside so many great important aircraft from Australia’s past conflicts. Temora is an exciting venue to display at because it has a clear, defined crowd line and allows us to perform our High Show, the most dynamic and exciting show that we display.”
The Museum’s Chief Executive Kenny Love said, “We are excited to host the Roulettes as part of Warbirds Downunder 2015 – I watched the team perform earlier in the year and they certainly put on an excellent aerobatic display, there isn’t anything else like it in Australia. The Roulette’s first displayed at the Museum in 2001 and we have been fortunate to have their continued involvement throughout the years.”
