Now that November is upon us, we can put the very wet winter months behind us as we look forward to some fantastic flying weather for the remainder of the Aircraft Showcase schedule for 2016. It has been a difficult year weather wise, with a couple of events cancelled and some ordinary flying weather at times, but with only three Aircraft Showcase events remaining for 2016 and some great spring weather, now is the time to plan your next visit to the Temora Aviation Museum.

Saturday November 5th will be the “Trainers, Fighters & Bombers”  themed Aircraft Showcase, spectators will see the Museum’s Spitfire, Hudson,  Boomerang, Tiger Moth and Ryan take to the skies. We will welcome a special guest from New Zealand (Martin Reid) for the “Winging It” Q&A session. Martin was involved in the beautiful restoration an Avro Anson restoration which was completed in New Zealand. Although the aircraft itself won’t be in Temora, Martin will chat about the meticulous restoration of the Avro Anson as we take a look at some photos of the project. The Winging It presentation will kick off at 10.30am so make sure that you get there early.

As we do at every Aircraft Showcase event, after the flying displays, the aircraft will be towed into the Museum’s maintenance hangar with the engineers and pilots on hand to give visitors that special experience of getting up close to the aircraft and chatting to the pilots and engineers. This is your opportunity to learn about what it takes to keep these remarkably restored aircraft, serviceable and flying.

The remaining two Aircraft Showcase events are scheduled for November 19th (Boomerang, Ryan, T-28, Lockheed 12 and Spitfire) and December 3rd (P-40 KittyHawk, Wirraway, Spitfire & Tiger Moth) check the Museum’s website for the details or phone us on 02 6977 1088.
