Cessna Dragonfly VH-XVA is getting a makeover…
Our top engineer, David Finch, has recently returned from the Unites States, where he purchased two GE CJ-610-6’s to replace the existing J-85-17A engine currently fitted to Cessna Dragonfly VH-XVA. Here’s a bit more detail…
- The engines were purchased from DK turbines located in Hollister, California.
- All of the inspection and repair work was carried out by Kallita Turbines, located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
- CJ-610’s are fitted to early Lear Jet aircraft and are a civilian variant of the J-85-17A.
- Even though the engines were purchased in serviceable condition, to ensure the long term reliability and serviceability of both of the engines, a compressor and hot section inspection was carried out. They passed with flying colours.
We hope to have these fitted and back in the air soon!
Farewell Reception
On August 17, TAM was proud to host a cocktail reception to farewell the retiring Hon Katrina Hodgkinson MP, Member for Cootamundra. The NSW Premier, the Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP attended as a special guest. It was the Premier’s first visit to TAM who noted her and her staff were equally impressed with our collection of aircraft and facilities.
