The Temora Aviation Museum is pleased to announce that Warbirds Downunder is returning in 2024!

The Chief Executive Officer of the Temora Aviation Museum, Murray Kear, announced today that the dates for the next Warbirds Downunder Airshow are Saturday 19th October and Sunday 20th October 2024.

Mr Kear said, “thank you to everyone for their patience while new dates were identified.”

The last Warbirds Downunder was held in 2018 with the 2022 event cancelled, due to the region experiencing significant rain and flooding, which most New South Wales and Victoria had received, it would have been impossible to host a safe event.

“The decision was made in late September to cancel the event, in an attempt to give ticket holders the opportunity to alter their travel plans.” Mr Kear said.

Warbirds Downunder is one of the largest airshows in Australia, where over 50 aircraft are exhibited and flown over the two days. In 2018 over 20,000 people attended the event.

Mr Kear said, “The 2024 event will be bigger and better than 2018, with tickets expected to be released 12 months prior to the event, and the list of display aircraft to be announced as they are confirmed.”

Temora Aviation Museum will be hosting an exciting event towards the end of 2023 with further details to come shortly.

VOLUNTEER FOR TEMORA AVIATION MUSEUM

The Temora Aviation Museum is proud to have a wonderful team of Volunteers that help the Museum meet its mission of preserving the aircraft and honouring the men and women that form Australia’s military aviation heritage.

Volunteers are involved in many aspects of the Museum operation including providing tours, assisting in the gift shop, working on display projects, assisting on flying days, and maintaining Museum facilities. Because the Museum’s aircraft are airworthy they are maintained by the Museum’s Engineering staff.

Recently our volunteers had the opportunity to fly in a variety of aircraft including the Museum’s Cessna O-2A, Tiger Moth and visiting aircraft including Harvard, CT-4, Bird Dog, and Citabria, as a reward for all their hard work throughout 2022. The flights were followed by a Christmas Dinner in the Museum’s Display Hangar.
