Scheduling of Warbirds Downunder Airshow

Planning for the next Warbirds Downunder Airshow in Temora NSW is about to commence said the Chief Executive Officer of the Temora Aviation Museum, Mr Murray Kear.

Mr Kear said “For those who attended the November 2015 event in Temora would know that it was a huge success, with over 20,000 people attending over the Friday evening and Saturday.

Those who attended would also know of the severe weather that was experienced on the Friday, and many have given their feedback regarding the best time of year to hold future Airshows”.

“As such we are considering all the comments and advice, as well as a review of known weather patterns and the scheduling of other state and regional events and are yet to set the date for the next Warbirds Downunder.

As there have also been some recent changes announced to the Leadership and Management of the Temora Aviation Museum, and with knowledge that an event as successful as Warbirds Downunder takes at least 12 months of dedicated planning, it was obvious that to attempt to run the event only 12 months from these changes, i.e. November 2017 would not be ideal”.

Mr Kear took up his position at the Museum on 1 October this year, when the former CEO, Mr Kenny Love moved to take up another position.

Mr Kear said that a decision and announcement about the date of the next Warbirds Downunder Airshow will be made in the next few months.
