Temora Aviation Museum Proudly Supports Anzac Day Services across the Riverina
Temora Aviation Museum aircraft will take part in Anzac Day ceremonies all over the Riverina this Friday by performing fly-pasts in honour of the men and woman who served our great country. The Temora Aviation Museum’s Mk XVI Spitfire, Wirraway and Cessna O-2A will participate in Anzac Day services at Temora, Springdale, Ardlethan, Ariah Park, Coolamon, Junee, Urinquinty & Cootamundra. Temora Aviation Museum President and Founder Mr David Lowy AM, said “It is an honour for the Museum to be involved in Anzac Day services. By conducting these fly pasts, it is our aim to recognise those who have served in defence of Australia during conflict and times of peace.” The Temora Aviation Museum collects and maintains in airworthy condition, historical military aircraft types flown by, or in conjunction with, Australian military forces. The Museum aims to honour men and women, like the many Anzacs, who contributed during times of war. As part of this acknowledgment the Museum has interviewed hundreds of ex-service men and women as part of the Museum’s ‘Unsung Heroes’ project. This exhibition provides a biographical database which documents the stories and recollections that are vital to the pioneering spirit of Australia’s military aviation heritage. As a sign of respect, the Museum will not open to the public until midday on Anzac Day.
