Temora Aviation Museum will host the Young District Arts Council with a WWII concert as part of a 4 concert series in the Riverina.
The Aviation Museum was the natural choice as the location of a WWII themed concert. With its rich links to WWII when it was home to an Elementary Flying Training School, the Museum felt that it was fitting and appropriate to be involved. The Young District Arts Council is producing a series of four concerts based around the subjects of WWI, WWII, Prisoners of War and the Light Horse Brigade.
The Temora concert will feature music, theatre, dance, singing and poetry. The Temora concert will coincide with the ‘Fighters’ themed Aircraft Showcase on 18th October which will feature the Museum’s Boomerang, Sabre and Meteor. Never before has the Temora Aviation Museum embarked on such a special experience, those attending will be treated to the spectacular ambiance of being surrounded by WWII Warbird Aircraft, theatrical lighting and quality performances put together by the Young District Arts Council.
Lauren Frith of the Young District Arts Council and director of the concert said “We are so excited to be a part of this unique experience. When we approached the Temora Aviation Museum to host the concert we were not sure what to expect, but as it turns out they have been super supportive and have been bending over backwards to make this event a success. The Young District Arts Council is so grateful for this opportunity and just hopes that we can attract a big audience to justify the effort which has gone into the concert.” Tickets for the concert can be purchased from the Museum. This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of something special.
